Nature-Connected Therapy
Nature-connected therapy weaves nature’s restorative benefits and wisdom into the therapeutic process.
Rooted in Biophilic Health, our work honors our innate connection to the natural world and the vital role nature plays in supporting health and wellbeing.
Our nature-connected therapy services are experiential and evidence-informed. We weave nature’s restorative benefits and wisdom into various psychotherapeutic and occupational therapy modalities — including cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, somatic approaches, graded exposure, activity analysis, and trauma-informed care.
Together, these approaches support regulation, adaptive coping, perspective-taking, meaningful participation, and foster a strong sense of connection and belonging.
Sessions may take place outdoors, indoors, or through a thoughtful blend of both.

Pathways of Nature Connection

Direct Nature Connection —
Time outside and interactions with natural elements and materials, plants, and animals.
Indirect Nature Connection —
Nature-based storytelling and metaphor, guided imagery, sensory experiences, biophilic design, and nature immersive virtual environments
Therapy becomes active and embodied: Climbing, balancing, tending, building, exploring, and interacting with animals create meaningful opportunities for movement and engagement. These experiences strengthen body awareness, sensory processing, physical literacy, and grit.
Somatic approaches are strengthened as the body responds to movement and sensory input, enhancing regulation and embodied awareness within outdoor and nature-inspired environments.
Mindfulness practices deepen through direct engagement with the sights, sounds, and rhythms of nature — supporting presence, attention, and emotional balance.
Cognitive behavioral techniques are enriched through real-world experiences, perspective-taking, and meaningful metaphors found in the natural world.
Therapeutic spaces become places of grounding, connection, and belonging
